Decrease in energy – how to deal with it?

Do you feel that you lack the will to act and your energy level has significantly decreased? There may be many reasons for this, but it is worth knowing effective ways to remedy this.

The autumn and winter period is the time when we are definitely more often attacked not only by the blues, but also by fatigue, sleepiness, apathy and lack of desire to act. The day is shorter, the temperature drops and the body starts to rebel. But before you write off all your plans and spread your hands helplessly, try a few effective, proven methods that should help you regain lost energy.

Get enough sleep

Getting enough sleep is essential. After a good night’s sleep your body recovers and you are less likely to use stimulants such as coffee. If you have trouble falling asleep, drink lemon balm or hops tea in the evening. To prepare the drink, put a teaspoon of herbs in a cup of boiling water and strain it after about 15 minutes. You can also drink a glass of warm milk with the addition of honey. This will increase the level of tryptophan in your body, which has a sleep-inducing effect, and serotonin, which effectively improves your mood.

Don’t give up exercising

Remember that instead of spending the entire afternoon in front of the TV, it is much better for your brain to oxygenate it in the fresh air or doing a series of exercises at home. Walking, cycling or jogging are forms of exercise that are great for dealing with sluggishness or concentration problems. Physical exertion will give you a chance to get away from problems and worries, regenerate your body, and have a positive impact on your overall well-being.

Watch what you eat

Make sure your diet is varied and rich in carbohydrates, especially complex ones. They are processed more slowly than simple carbohydrates, so they will provide you with energy for longer. You can find them in foods such as groats, pasta and rice. Include carbohydrates in each of your meals and eat products rich in B vitamins, because they are good for the proper functioning of the nervous system. And don’t forget about fruit and vegetables! Eat citrus fruits, broccoli, and peppers because they contain vitamin C, which will boost your immunity. Also important is magnesium, which you can find, for example, in dark chocolate – it has a positive effect on concentration and relieves stress.

Try aromatherapy

Aromatherapy has great power, although it is not appreciated by some. Use geranium oil to energize you, or try to lift your mood with tangerine or cinnamon oil. Ideally, you should heat your oil of choice in an aromatherapy fireplace, but you can also spray water with a few drops of it in your home

Take care of your breaks

Try to schedule your work wisely throughout the day and don’t forget to set aside enough time for breaks. Resting is important because it is one of the reasons why you work more efficiently and why you leave work less tired

Drink water

Everyone knows that drinking water is extremely important for your body, yet most people simply forget to do it throughout the day. In fact, drinking water regularly is a simple activity that is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself! When your body is properly hydrated, it will start working completely differently and you will quickly notice the positive effects.

Treat yourself to a relaxing massage

You don’t have to go to a professional massage parlor to get a massage that will relieve fatigue and restore your vitality. You can easily do it at home! How? Use aromatic oils with energizing effect (e.g. grapefruit or rosemary) and add a tablespoon of edible oil. Then sit comfortably, join your hands together and rest them on the table. Place your head on the table and ask the masseur to stroke and apply pressure to your neck and the side of your neck.
